This policy explains what information LowVisionGuide.org collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to LowVisionGuide.org, currently hosted at lowvisionguide.ghost.io during our domain transition.
Who we are
LowVisionGuide.org is published by Visible Living LLC, a Washington State company. Visible Living LLC also operates VisibleLiving.org. See our About page for more on how the two properties relate.
Information we collect
LowVisionGuide.org runs on the Ghost publishing platform. We collect information in these ways:
- Newsletter and account signup: If you sign up for updates or create an account, we collect your email address. Signup is open to anyone, and you agree at signup to receive emails from us — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- Email engagement: Like most publishers, we use Ghost's built-in tools to see whether emails we send are opened and whether links in them are clicked. This helps us understand which content is useful.
- Signup source: We record which page or link led to a signup, so we can understand how readers find the site.
- Session cookies: If you create an account, Ghost uses a cookie to keep you signed in. This is required for the account feature to work and is not used for advertising.
We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising tracking scripts (such as Google Analytics or ad-network pixels) on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy.
What we do not collect
We do not ask you to submit information about your own eye condition, diagnosis or medical history anywhere on this site, and we do not currently offer paid subscriptions or process payments — no payment or financial information is collected by LowVisionGuide.org.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Send the newsletter and updates you signed up for
- Maintain your account, if you have one
- Understand which content and referral sources are useful to readers
- Respond to messages you send us
- Maintain the security and functioning of the site
We do not sell your personal information.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and some point to sponsor, manufacturer or retailer websites, including VisibleLiving.org. See our Editorial Independence Charter for how these relationships are disclosed and governed editorially. When you follow an outbound link, you leave LowVisionGuide.org and become subject to that destination's own privacy practices, which we do not control.
How long we keep information
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed or hold an account. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove or anonymize your information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited records for legal or security purposes.

- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link included in every email we send.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@visibleliving.org.

We will respond to privacy requests within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Children's privacy
LowVisionGuide.org is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as our practices, services or applicable law change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date below.
